Projects

Projects are the way to organize and separate resources. A project holds all the resources of a target: its domains, hosts, ports, websites and IP ranges. Resources are unique per project, and deleting a project deletes all its resources and related information.

Projects usually follow business needs: one project per subsidiary, business unit, client or stakeholder. They are also the unit of access control: a group can be restricted to some projects only.

A project has:

  • a name, which must be unique but can be changed at any time;
  • an optional logo, for display purposes;
  • optional notes, to keep useful information at hand, such as contacts or the agreed scope.

Some configuration can also be set per project, such as secrets and subscriptions.

Red Kite allows you to work on multiple projects at once, but using the global project filter in the navigation bar, you can also focus your work on a single project at a time. It will pre-filter data in displays such as tables and metrics.

To create your first project, see My first scan. To share a project, see Working with teammates.
