Working with teammates
Red Kite is a shared source of truth for your attack surface. Everything one person learns about a resource, whether it is the owner of a server or the reason an exposure is accepted, can be kept in Red Kite for the whole team.
Comments and timelines
Intel records and resources (domains, hosts, ports, websites and IP ranges) have a timeline. Use it to discuss with your team:
- Open the intel record or the resource.
- Write your comment in the Write a comment... field. The editor supports bold, italic, lists, links and code blocks.
- Click Post, or press Ctrl+Enter (Cmd+Enter on macOS).
You can edit or delete your own comments. The timeline also records the changes of status and severity of intel, with their author, so you always know who did what and when.
Some good uses of comments:
- assigning an intel to its owner, and keeping track of their answer;
- explaining why a risk was accepted or why an intel is a false positive;
- leaving context on a resource, such as "This host is decommissioned in March".
Shared enrichment
The enrichment of your resources is shared by everyone: when a teammate verifies a resource, blocks it, tags it or fills its custom fields, everyone sees it.
Agree as a team on a few conventions:
- Tags for the groups of resources you work on together, such as
pentest-2026orto-review. See Tags. - Custom fields for the information everyone needs, such as an
owneror abusiness-unitfield. See Custom fields. - Intel statuses for the follow-up of issues. See Managing intel.
Sharing a project with a link
You can share a project with people inside or outside your organization with a link. Go to Management > Projects, open the project, click Share project and choose who can use the link:
| Option | Effect |
|---|---|
| With existing access | Only people who already have access to the project can use the link. |
| Outside your organization — View only | Anyone with the link can view the project's data. |
| Outside your organization — Can edit | Anyone with the link can view and edit the project's resources. |
Then click Copy link and send it.
Anyone with an Outside your organization link can access the project's data. Only send it to people you trust, and prefer View only unless they need to make changes.
Giving access to more people
To give someone a permanent access, invite them as a user. See Inviting teammates.
