Creating users

Users are managed in Management > Users. The list shows each user's name, email, whether they are active, and whether they enabled MFA.

Inviting or creating a user

There are two ways to add a user:

  • Invite: enter an email and a group, and click Invite. The quickest way. See Inviting teammates.
  • New User: fill in the user's first name, last name, email, group and preferred language (the language of the emails Red Kite sends them), then click Create.

In both cases, you do not choose a password: the user receives an email with a link to set up their account. The link is valid for 7 days. To send it again, open the user's menu and click Resend onboarding email.

note

A user created as disabled does not receive the onboarding email. It is sent when the user is created as enabled.

Editing a user

Click a user to edit their name, email, preferred language, or to enable or disable their account. Confirm your changes with your own password in the Validate Identity section, then click Save changes.

The user's groups are shown, but they are changed from the groups themselves. See Managing roles and permissions.

Administrators can also set a new password for a user with Set Password.

Disabling or deleting a user

  • Disable a user to block their access while keeping their account, for instance during a leave. Uncheck User is enabled.
  • Delete a user to remove their account permanently, from the user's page or with Delete in the list.
info

Red Kite always keeps at least one administrator: the last admin cannot be deleted, disabled or removed from the admins group.
